Sunday (Dec. 2, 2018) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, with her family by her side.Celebration of life services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 E. U.S. 36, Atwood, with the Rev. Don Gerkin officiating.Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Private interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Ivesdale.Paula was born Feb. 22, 1956, in Rantoul, the daughter of Raymond and Betty Sheperd Keith. She married David Allen Goodwin on Aug.23, 1997. He survives.Also surviving are her children, Shannon Dick of Mahomet, Jeffery Dick of Atwood, Amy Nichols of Hammond and Matthew Dick of Tuscola; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother, Stephen Keith of Sparta; sister, Toni Wendler of Monticello; and loving dogs, Baylee and Brandie.She was preceded in death by her parents and stepdaughter, Misty Hammon.Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.Paula worked as a custodial worker at the University of Illinois. She was a very active member of the SEIU Local 73. She loved riding her Harley and was a member of the Wind Sisters. Paula enjoyed baking, gardening, canning and photography. Mrs. Wash was born in Vivian, Caddo Parish, La., to Baylus R. and Clyde (Rawls) Goodwin on May 25, 1925. Following her high school graduation at Belcher, La., she attended Louisiana State University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in music as a triple music major in voice, piano and music education.When she finished her education, Mrs. Wash moved to Georgetown, Ky., where she met her husband, William R. Wash. They subsequently moved to Dallas, where Mrs. Wash taught elementary school for a number of years. She and her husband lived in Dallas for 38 years before moving to Kilgore in 1993 after retirement. In 2013, Mrs. Wash moved to Palestine to be closer to her daughter and entered a nursing home in 2016.Mrs. Wash is preceded in death by her husband, William R. Wash; her daughter, Jennifer Wash Horan; her parents, Baylus R. and Clyde (Rawls) Goodwin; sisters, Jeanette Goodwin Anders and Martha Carol Goodwin Hobgood; her twin brother, Baylus R. Goodwin.She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Michael) Anderson of Elkhart; grandson, David (Elizabeth) Anderson of Missouri City, Texas; granddaughters, Meghan (Brian) Ashburn of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Sarah (Mark) Van Treese of Tampa, Fla.; nephews, John (Helen) Anders of Austin and Bill (Debbie) Hobgood of Lewisville; niece, Amy (Craig) Castleberry of Plano, and six great-granddaughters, Claire, Rosalie and Scarlett Ashburn, Olivia and Whitney Anderson, and Jennifer Van Treese.Visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore on Thursday, December 6, from 4-6 p.m.Funeral service will be held at Rader Funeral Home on Friday, December 7, at 10 a.m., with Reverend David Hampton officiating.
